He has been through so much, and risks everything to play with Kevin again he becomes the lynch pin of the team, and grows so much in this novel. I think it’s this that really caught me, as I do prefer character driven narratives.
There’s a fairly large cast of characters, but you’ll feel like you know them all because so much time is spent developing them. I just couldn’t put it down, it’s a book that focuses on the characters, and the relationships between them. I read all three books in three days I was reading this in the staff room at work, in the bath, and while sitting in the car waiting for my mum. The book reads a little like fanfiction it’s intoxicating and drags you in, but isn’t necessarily the best written nor the most complex novel.
Much like The Captive Prince it’s a dark twisted book, and a lot of bad things have and will happen to the characters. Okay so firstly this book contains a whole lot of violence, abuse, and manipulation so if that’s not your cup of tea please put this book down. Its just managed to capture me, but I’m here to break down the good and bad points, so I’ll try not to yell too loudly about my love for this book.
